What is PostgreSQL …?

PostgreSQL is developed by the PostgreSQL Global Development Group, a diverse set of several firms and individual contributors. It’s absolutely free and open source, released under the terms of the PostgreSQL License, a permissive software license.

PostgreSQL is ACID-compliant and untrue. PostgreSQL has updatable views and materialized views, triggers, foreign keys; supports functions and stored procedures, along with other expandability.

It can manage workloads ranging from small single-machine applications to big Internet-facing applications (or for data warehousing) with many concurrent users. It is the default database on macOS Server[9][10][11] and can be available for Microsoft Windows and Linux (provided in most distributions).
